Day 1: Pink City Beacons
As the sun began to show a warm glow on the horizon, our adventure began in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Jaipur, popularly known as the "Pink City", was the first stop on our Rajasthan tour. We started our day at Hawa Mahal, an ornate palace that seems to be made of pink coral. Its beehive-like facade allows royal ladies to observe the busy life of the city while maintaining their privacy.
After a quick photo session, we headed to the City Palace, a stunning complex of palaces, courtyards and museums. It was a surreal experience to walk through the grand halls decorated with intricate artworks and textiles telling the story of Rajasthan's royal heritage.
Day 2: Amber Fort and Elephant Safari
The second day was dedicated to the majestic Amber Fort nestled in the hills just outside Jaipur. We decided to climb the fort in the most royal way, riding on elephants. The drive through the Aravalli hills to the fort was thrilling and scenic. At the fort, we explored intricate architecture and magnificent palaces including the Sheesh Mahal, one of the halls of mirrors that resembled a starry night.
Day 3: Yantar Mantra and local market
We spent our third day visiting Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest stone astronomical observatory. Astronomical instruments, some dating back to the 18th century, are an incredible testament to the scientific prowess of ancient India.
Later, we couldn't resist the lure of the Jaipur market. Johari Bazaar offered treasures of jewellery, while the bustling bazaars of Bapu and Nehru were perfect for collecting traditional Rajasthani textiles, handicrafts and souvenirs.
Day 4: Nahargarh Fort and Local Food
Day 5: Day trip to Jaigarh Fort and Jal Mahal
On our fifth day, we set out to explore the Jaigarh Fort, known for its massive canon, Jaivahana, and its role in the defense of the region. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the fort, taking in the historical significance and natural beauty.
In the afternoon, we visited the Jal Mahal, the water palace. It was surreal to see this palace seemingly floating in the middle of the Man Sagar lake. Although we didn't get to enter the palace, the lakeside view was breathtaking.

Day 6: Birla Temple and departure
On our last day in Jaipur, we visited the Birla Temple, a modern white marble temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The serene atmosphere and stunning architecture of the temple left us in awe.
As the day ends, we reluctantly say goodbye to the Pink City, taking with us memories of its grandeur, history and the warm hospitality of its people. Our journey through Jaipur, Rajasthan was a deep connection with the vibrant culture, architectural wonders and rich history of this incredible city. We leave with our hearts full and our minds forever captivated by the pink city.
