A synthetic big hauler struck Saturday off the shore of India was designated "by a one-way assault drone Lounced from Iran," the Pentagon said in an explanation.
The assault occurred around 10 a.m. neighborhood time and caused no losses on board the Japanese-claimed vessel, it said, it was doused to add that a fire.
The U.S. military "stays in correspondence with the vessel as it goes on toward an objective in India," it added.
The Pentagon explanation said the Chem Pluto transport flew under a Liberian banner and was worked by a Dutch substance.
The robot strike happened 200 nautical miles off the shoreline of India, it said, adding that no U.S. Naval force vessels were nearby.
There was no quick case of liability regarding the strike which came in the midst of a whirlwind of robot and rocket assaults by Yemen's Iran-upheld Houthi rebels on an imperative delivery path in the Red Ocean. The U.S. on Friday blamed Iran for close contribution to those assaults.
In any case, Iran's appointee unfamiliar pastor on Saturday excused those U.S. allegations, it was following up on asserting the group own.
The Houthis say they are leading the assaults in fortitude with Palestinians in the attacked Gaza Strip.
The Indian naval force said it had answered a solicitation for help.
"An airplane was dispatched and it arrived at above the vessel and laid out the security of the elaborate boat and its team," a naval force official told AFP.
"An Indian naval force warship has additionally been dispatched in order to give help as required."
